The hotel was opened in 1996 and took its name from the French word for mahogany in the spirit of hotel design that blends perfectly with the surroundings. It was renovated in 2014. It is located on the north beach on the island of Praslin, and in its surroundings you have shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, a diving center, a bank.

From Seychelles International Airport on the main island of Mahe, the hotel is a 15-minute plane ride away. It is also possible to arrive by boat from Mahe Island to Praslin. It runs two to three times a day, the port is 20 minutes away from the airport and the journey takes about an hour. After arriving on Praslin Island, you have a 10-minute drive to the hotel.
